"Alphabet of Inspirations"?

The goal of the "alphabet of inspirations" is to inspire you into the outdoors! Granted, majority of these are personal experiences and traditions I take part in. Each letter in the alphabet starts an explanation of a resource a viewer, a reader, or a person looking at getting into the outdoors should access to feel inspired to take part in this campaign. Every letter leads to a link.

Alaska has a reputation for being a sportsman's paradise. I've been to Alaska, and I would recommend going there if you get the chance to. The scenery is phenomenal, and the number of outdoor activities there is endless. Here's a read on what to expect with visiting Alaska.

Boating is a great way to get out and experience the outdoors. For this, you don't need to have an expensive boat. You can use paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, or whatever you can get your hands on. Obviously with whichever boat you prefer, this limits some of your activities. However, just simply going out and boating is a great way to spend the day with friends and family. Get out and enjoy the day! Here's a boaters guide app to help you out! click here.

Catfish are a different species of fish that truly look unique. These fish are more popular in the south, however, they're pretty widespread throughout America. They are one of my favorite fish to eat and can grow big to put on a good fight while catching them. These fish can be found in lakes and rivers; however, you need to have some patience of course. Catfish generally eat whatever presentation you put in front of them, however, they sometimes will eat very smelly baits. You can also catch them with your bare hands. This is called noodling and you stick your toes in a catfish hole, feel the nibble, then reach down and pull them out! I've always wanted to try this approach. Here's a catfish species guide.

Duck hunting is very popular across the United States. There is a wide variety of different species of ducks to hunt where all of them have their own unique taste. I've only duck hunted once, and I would love to do it again. I know a lot of people that would recommend going duck hunting. here is a species guide on the various ducks that you can hunt, click here.

Elk hunting has always been a dream of mine. This is the one animal that I have at the top of my bucket list that I want to hunt one day. I love their meat, and they make beautiful mounts to be adored. Even pictures of these animals are absolutely stunning. They are very big and very tough to encounter, however, they are one of the most thrilling animals to be in front of. Here's a picture of reference of what a elk looks like.

Fishing is one of my favorite hobbies out of this entire project. Fishing is truly a sport you can do year-round! You can open water fish out of a boat or even offshore, and you can even ice fish during the winter! You would need a license in order to fish, and getting equipment is easy and not too expensive. You can shore fish or even fish out of anything that can float. Attached is a website with more on fishing, and where to access a waterway near you. Check it out!

Grouse are one of my favorite wild game birds to eat. The grouse population here in North Dakota is lower than in the years past, however, they are still open to hunt. These birds are simple to hunt. Grab a shotgun and hit the outdoors with some friends and go bird hunting! Here is a link from the North Dakota Game and Fish website with more information on grouse hunting, click here.

Huntin, Fishin, Lovin Every day is a song made by country artist, Luke Bryan. This is a pretty good song that sets the tone for being an outdoorsman. This song really gets to me and is one of my favorite songs about the great outdoors. When I listen to this song, I tend to drift off and often daydream about the various memories I have of being in the great outdoors. Here, take a listen!

Ice fishing is one of my favorite ways to go fishing. Ice fishing is simply fishing, but out on a frozen body of water rather than fishing in the open water. Ice fishing can be more dangerous than normal fishing, so please be weary of the changing ice conditions and make sure to be prepared for colder temperatures. However, the satisfaction with ice fishing is higher than fishing from shore or out of a boat, in my opinion. Here's more about ice fishing with this read, click here.

Jigging is a type of fishing tactic that requires patience and skill. Here, you simply use a weight jig-hook and your select bait. All you do, is run your rig to the bottom and lift and lower your jig. You can also cast jigs and retrieve them. Pending on the time of year, however, the different strategies perform differently. Jigging is one of my favorite ways to fish because of the feel you get when you're fighting a fish. Here's a how to guide on how to start getting into jigging.

King salmon are a very popular fish to catch of the salmon family. These fish like colder waters, and can grow to big sizes. They can be aggressive fighting fish, and can be a lot of fun to catch. These fish combined with the right sceneries make really good pictures. They are also very tasty to eat! I've always wanted to go to Alaska and go fly fishing for these fish. Attached is a picture of the king salmon.

Lakes provide much more than just fishing. Lakes themselves are a great way to get out and go swimming, go boating, kayaking, performing water sports, or even just lounging on a shoreline. I love being out on a lake any second I can get. Here's a site that will help with finding a lake near you.

Mule Deer is a species of deer that is a common game animal chased here in North Dakota. My family and I have a tradition of annually pursuing these animals yearly, whether they're does or bucks. A tag is required, and each year we go out hunting, rent a cabin in the Little Missouri State Park, and have a great time! A picture of these animals can be accessed here. This picture is from the North Dakota Game and Fish Website.

National parks are a great way of getting into the outdoors! State parks give various activities that can get you into the outdoors! There's many hiking trails and various other activities that can get you outside. Here in North Dakota, the Theodore Roosevelt National Park is one of the popular parks here in North Dakota. Medora is also located nearby with all kinds of great activities. Find a national park near you!

Ocean fishing is a blast. This is different than standard fishing, however. Here, you're better off fishing out of a boat because more often than not you're fishing in extreme depths. The water is also really cold and is home to numerous different species of fish. You can also catch crabs with crab pots, lobster, shrimp, or anything you can find really. My favorite with ocean fishing is fishing for halibut. I love fishing in general, however, I wish to spend more time in the ocean as well.

Pheasant hunting is also a common family tradition, especially within my family. I have not missed an opening day of pheasant season since I started hunting, and my dad has only missed one opening day since he was a kid. This is just another way to get out and enjoy the outdoors. These birds are a great chase, great tasting, and a great sight! A picture of these birds has been provided here.

Quail is a species of upland game bird that is another great opportunity to hunt. These birds are smaller, however, these birds create a great opportunity for hunting. These birds are also great eating and I would recommend it to anyone. Grab some buddies, get some bird dogs, and go out and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Rainbow trout are a smaller sized fish; however, these fish are up there on the tasty scale. These fish are also very beautiful with their vibrant colors. These fish are fun to catch on a fly-fishing rod as well. My ideal trip with these fish would be fly fishing in a river in either Montana or even Alaska. click here to see this beautiful fish, the rainbow trout.

Sightseeing is one of my favorite things to do while being in the outdoors. The different sceneries and the different opportunities you get are endless. You can simply go out on your bike, go for a drive, or even go for a hike and see what mother nature has to offer within her beauty.

Tents are a great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors by camping. Tents are one of the cheapest ways to stay the night outside. However, plan ahead for potential weather and the change in temperatures. Using tents to camp is one of my favorite ways to camp. Here's some help, tenting for beginners.

Urban is what we're all used to in today's world. People have become accustomed to being urban and not exploring their surroundings. A great way to break this cycle, is to break the norm and get out of your urban lifestyle. Throw mother nature into the mix, and release yourself into nature. This is a great way to relieve stress and have a great time in the process. You don't know what you're missing out on when I say being out in nature is a gift. Being out in mother nature is a gift right in our back door that numerous people don't take full advantage of.

Varying scenery is a great example of the importance of mother nature. This creates different sights to see, and creates different opportunities to explore. My personal favorite, is the badlands of North Dakota. Another favorite of mine is seeing the mountains in Alaska. You don't need to spend a lot of money to get a change of scenery. However, varying your scenery allows you to see an even fuller potential of what mother nature has to offer.

Walleye fishing is my favorite type of fishing. Overall, this is my favorite fish to catch, and I feel the most satisfied when I catch a big walleye- I event have a replica mount of a walleye on my wall! These are gorgeous fish and tastes pretty good too! The link provided gives a layout of where these fish range within the U.S. and Canada! Check it out.

Xenacious is an adjective to describe someone that has a yearning for change. Overall, this is the importance of the blog. I feel it is necessary to make change, and why not step into the great outdoors to help yourself make a change! The great outdoors is an amazing place to release ones stress and to clear their mind. I highly recommend getting out into mother nature. Here, you can really connect with the environment and take in the natural beauty as a whole.

You never know what to expect when you're out in the great outdoors! The number of activities you can endure is limitless. As long as you have the right materials to enjoy the outdoors, you're set. Getting outdoors is great on the body and great on the mind. I would deeply recommend getting outdoors. Here's a activities guide to help get you started.

Zebra is an animal that lives in Africa. Many people view zebras as a magnificent animal, I do as well, however, it would be a dream of mine to go on an African Safari and bring home a zebra. I love trying different meats and trying new things, so I would be willing to try zebra as odd as it sounds. I feel these animals are gorgeous animals, and I would even be okay with just getting some pictures of these beloved animals. Here is a picture of a zebra here, zebra picture.
